Perhaps we should tell the LAPD it’s a cop killer?
I tend to like methods which use the asteroid’s own matter as reaction mass, and thus favor mass-driver reaction engines. I think there’s a lot to be said for sending an engine but not having to additionally send the fuel for the engine.
The concerns about asteroids being “flying gravel piles” make me more optimistic about low steady-thrust propulsion than sudden, quick shocks.
