It’s just an election
On any given day a stock may tick up or down. But if you just hold that stock any given day doesn’t matter. Either you ride it up or you ride it down.
America is riding it down. But a revitalization of the midwest due to fracking may allow Obama to ride an uptick (and claim responsibility while fighting it all the way) on the way down.

Thanks, but I am not the one crying. Its the others here who need it and my reference was to how they are crying about an outcome that I was telling them would occur since the Tea Party emerged in 2010.
Elections are not decided by the radicals, but by the independents and most independents are moderates. Drag a party to far to one side or the other and a loss is guaranteed.
The Republican Party was doomed to lose this election by buying into the agenda of the Tea Party radicals.
So now the question is has the party learned it’s lesson and will a clean up begin, just as it did in 1964, to sweep the radicals out or does the party has to keep losing before the message sinks in.
I’m surprised you think people here would be worried about the possibility of Puerto Rico becoming a state with the implication the worry would stem from oh noes brown peoples.

We should open up statehood to more than just Puerto Rico? For a flag, keep the 13 stripes and have just one big star with “[year] dash 51” below it in black (while still calling it the red, white and blue.) Make the implication that 51 is going up explicit and then do it.

Instead they run on taking away marriage rights, women’s rights, worker’s rights and basically restoring the nation to the WASP run world of 1920. The talk about fiscal responsibility, Constitution, etc. is just the usual strategy radicals have of wrapping themselves in Patriotism and Flag that all radical movements do to look respectable and fool folks into supporting them.

My understanding of the Mayan calendar – especially given recent archaeological finds – is not that the end of the most widely known Mayan calendar timeline indicated any predicted end of the world, just the end of the future interval the Mayan astronomers had calculated at the time the thing was carved. Printed (or graven) calendars always have ends. I mean, hell, I’ve got several calendars that all end on Dec. 31, 2012. That doesn’t mean the people who printed them thought the world was going to end on New Year’s Eve. Yeesh! The things some people choose to worry about!
Given Tuesday’s results… I’ve been kinda hoping that this whole end-of-the-word on Dec 22nd thing isn’t a hoax after all. 🙂
