The article made some good points, but…
the drawbacks of going into orbit
Huh?
Bigelow has not been focussing on providing a tourist destination but once in orbit that’s going to be the hot destination.
I was walking by the Mac Donalds in the nearby food court… this store has one of those large blimp shaped sign balloons. The staff had pulled it down and were adding helium to it from a bottle . A random guy walking by (not me) asked the worker if he was going to jump from space.
The article did mention Xcor as one of the three companies Per Wimmer had booked on. That’s actually a good demonstration of its seriousness.
I wouldn’t know about that. XCOR certainly has the ability to design liquid rocket engines well but I am less certain about their aerostructures engineering.
Almost the exact opposite of Scaled Composites.
.. but then, that’s the way XCOR wants you to think about them.
Wait and see 🙂
