It’s historically tragic to view the continuing deterioration of Britain, and see the ongoing abandonment of English common law in its own birthplace. What will it take for them to come to their senses?

That link blows up when I try to view it. Here’s another copy of it; maybe that will work.

If not, it’s about the 4th or 5th item down on http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/ right now.
We’ve the same problem in NZ, but at least the jury almost always finds the defendant Not Guilty.
Unfortunately, this is Formerly Great Britain. Cf Tony Martin.
Good to see that the people of New Zealand are applying jury nullification when necessary. It’ll be even better when people vote out policians who enact such stupid laws and vote in people who will replace bad laws with good ones.
In the U.S. it still is.

WWII vet says he was defending home with shooting
VERONA, Ky. — A 92-year-old farmer and World War II veteran who fatally shot an intruder in his northern Kentucky home says he acted in self-defense and aimed “right for his heart.”
He’d be in worse trouble if his wife were Turkish.

What will it take? Civil war, most likely. Unfortunate, but that’s where history points in nearly all such situations.
It’s all part and parcel of Tony Blair’s “Cool Britannica”.
