The vetting continues, though not by the MSM:
Although his campaign vehemently denied it in 2008, newly obtained documentary evidence now establishes beyond a reasonable doubt that Barack Obama joined the New Party, a leftist third party controlled in Chicago by ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), during his first run for office in 1996.
The New Party’s aim was to transform the United States into a European-style welfare state, with the program of Scandinavia’s social democratic parties serving as a model. Mitt Romney has already identified this as the goal of Obama’s presidency, and the story of Obama’s New Party days lends credence to Romney’s claim.
So while Romney was running Bain Capital, Obama joined a leftist third party controlled by ACORN and dedicated to turning the United States into a massive, European-style welfare state. If Romney’s background at Bain is a fit topic for discussion, so is Obama’s New Party tie. It is now proven that, despite his campaign’s vehement denials in 2008, President Obama gave his allegiance to a party standing far toward the left of the American political spectrum. That is news. Will the press report it?
That Barack Obama is a life-long socialist and far leftist (not to mention a liar, along with his campaign) shouldn’t be news. And his enablers in the press will ensure that it doesn’t become so.
[Update a few minutes later]
“He doesn’t need people.” And all the narcissist’s yes men (and women):
When the media took Obama’s skill at campaigning as evidence of his ability to govern, it was like concluding that just because a person knew how to operate a bulldozer he could operate on a brain tumor. The skills did not necessarily transfer. Perhaps the root cause of the administration’s woes is that it knows how to campaign, but is completely incompetent at governing.
The image one gets is that of an old-time political machine, where a bunch of operators slouch outside the office of the Boss, waiting to be sent on this errand or that, all the while occupying themselves with trivia, racing tame cockroaches across the floor and vying with each other to see who can hit the spittoon across the room. You can run Tammany Hall that way. Maybe even Chicago. But can you govern America in that fashion? Until the administration values competence over spin it will continue to tank.
In other words, it will continue to tank.
If you will note the date on this link, Obama’s membership (real or otherwise) in the New Party was discussed in 2008. Nobody seemed to give a darn then, I suspect that few will give a darn now.
So a blog post means this issue has already been judged as unworthy by the main stream media and the voters?
I followed the election coverage very closely and I am sure you did to but I’ll wager this is the first time either of us heard about it.
It was discussed. By bloggers.
Gerrib, are you really going to represednt to us that you consider a handful of right-wing <strident, dissonant chord> bloggers talking about something, as complete coverage?
You might also take note that a great many right-wing bloggers who discussed it in 2008 thought it wouldn’t make a difference precisely because the Obamarrhoids were too deep into the Kool-Aid to care that their messiah is a socialist.
If Romney had been a member of the American Nazi Party at some point, would you “give a darn,” Chris? I certainly would.
So Chris, let’s ignore everyone else. Why don’t you care? Do you think it doesn’t matter when someone, running for president, hides their political belief? Would it similarly not matter to you, if they were a closet racist or homophobe?
Excuse me? Did you even read Kurtz’s work? It is by now self-evident that Obama was very much a member of the New Party.
And, no, this issue wasn’t “discussed” back in 2008, as I never heard of it, and I’m a bit of a political junkie. Guilty admission: I had stopped paying attention to NRO by that time, after I decided they were a tool of the DC Republican establishment. This obviously caused me to miss a few relevant stories from them.
Point being that the MSM performed their usual “smother & ignore” gate-keeping tactics to keep this out of the spotlight. I really can’t say why McCain didn’t hit him harder on this.
Real or otherwise? Even so, nobody cares? Do you think the media treaty it as a non issue has anything to do with that? Come on, you can spin better than that?
Democrats are socialists. Dog bites man.
Romney worked ran a company! Negative Spin at 11.
“He doesn’t need people.”
First rate leaders choose first rate staff. They know they’ll do better with the best people helping.
Third rate leaders choose fourth rate staff so they’ll look better by comparison. Obama can’t stand the thought that he might not be the brightest guy in any room.
It’s interesting to me (but not surprising) that no matter how much evidence is compiled that “Il Dufe” is a socialist (certainly more statist than the average “liberal”–and that’s saying quite a bit at this stage of the game), the Hive will always deny it. And I’m not even talking about someone brain-on-hold, party-line defenders like Gerrib. I suppose if you belong to a political movement that was founded on deception (when socialists in the 1930s realized they’d have more success calling themselves “liberals”), you pretty much have a heritage of denial you have to live up to. Obama was a Red Diaper Baby; nah, Uncle Frank and his commie father are just figments of your imagination. Obama belongs to a church whose minister preaches a melange of holy-roller spookism, anti-White racism, and Marxism-for-Dummies? Nope; Obama apparently was in the men’s room during the sermons. Obama belonged to the socialist New Party? Oh, that’s old news–keep moving, nothing to see here.
Oh, and leave us not forget the Joe the Plumber incident. Obama tells a guy in the street that he wants to “spread the wealth”? Hey, everybody, let’s gang up on Joe for putting words in Obama’s mouth!
Remember, folks: There is no truth but the Hive’s truth.
Should we be checking for Heinlein’s puppet masters on their backs?
The left is still attacking Palin and her family over their affiliations with political groups real and imagined so it makes sense for them to ignore this story about Obama.
