The boycott. No, it is not “bigotry” or “intolerance” to be opposed to a terrorist-supporting organization. Or if it is, there are some things that shouldn’t be tolerated.
Just one more example of why they’re gradually going out of business.

I tried to change the subject by asking if there was a separate bin for 3D blu rays; he didn’t know.
My local Walmart now has a separate bin for discount blu-ray’s: $7.88. As well as two separate display cases for new release blu-rays. And completely separate space for new release DVD’s.
Best buy is toast.
I can’t say I’m willing to protest by boycott. Then again, the last few times I’ve been to Best Buy, I could arguably say they are boycotting me. I certainly haven’t found what I was looking to obtain, and unless I wanted DirecTV or a Best Buy credit card; they seemed to lack the knowledge to help me find the product. Oh, I “could check online”, but if I’m going to order online, then they are competing with all online retailers. Might as well close the brick stores now.
Leland,
I agree. I used to spend more time looking for a clerk to sell me what I wanted to buy then it took to find the product. And their product knowledge is about zero. That is why I don’t waste my time going to Best Buy and more and closed my Best Buy account.
Instead I just go to Office Depot or Office Max. Good products, good prices and there is always someone to help you. Yes, Best Buy is on the same downward path that Circuit City took.
I went into Office Depot wanting to look at organizers. I wanted one that also had a pocket to hold a cellphone. The first sales person didn’t even know what organizers were, so she got a manager. The manager claimed they didn’t have any and when I asked “well can you point me to what you do have, so I can look at those?” I was told, “no, because you’d just be wasting your time.” So I left deciding that future business would be a waste of time. That was 6 months ago.
By chance last week, I wanted to get some business card holder sheets for an organizer. I decided to try the store again, but avoided the sales people. I found exactly what I was looking to purchase. They also had plenty of styles of organizers. I suspect they may out live Best Buy, but will go the way of Circuit City themselves in due course.
In the BB by my house you can’t walk 10 feet or loiter for more than a minute or two in any isle without someone asking if you need help. I don’t know how knowledgeable they are because I never need to ask them questions about what I’m buying. If people are making a big ticket purchase they should do their research in advance.
My problems with BB is the high prices and poor selection.
I began a personal boycott of Best Buy a few years ago when they advertized one version of a DVD I was looking for, and then told me in the store that the fine print specified a different inferior version of the movie. I told them that this kind of “bait and switch” was outrageous and demanded to see the manager. He asked me what I wanted. I told him I wanted him to sell the the DVD in the advertisement for the advertised price, and he refused. I told him I would never shop there again, and he didn’t care. I’ve never been back, nor spent a cent in that shop. Wonder how much money their penny pinching over a little DVD cost them?
Didn’t they get in trouble for bait and switch or was it the entire industry?
I know they used to do this with computers and people were always steamed when they showed up money in hand to find the computer from the ad was not there but there plenty of more expensive computers to choose from.
So, they fire the CEO, and intend to take months to replace him, during the the Christmas runup, while closing stores at the same time. The BB Board would seem a bit dysfunctional.
