The most terse scientific abstract ever consisted of only one equation:
E=mc^2
The idea, …, is based on the fact that the vacuum is birefringent for neutrinos.
1) I didn’t know that was true of neutrinos; and 2) that’s a clever attempt at explanation – even if the abstract summarizes the conclusion (I didn’t read the entire article but I assume they trying to distinguish a “phase” and “group” velocity of neutrinos based on their angular momentum in the same way light can have an FTL phase velocity but information cannot be sent FTL).
When I was a grad student I became fascinated with geometric (Berry’s) phase. I thought I was on to something when I came up with a connection between light phase and solid angle swept out on the Poincare sphere. Turned out that – to people who worked with interferometers – it was routine.
It might have been shorter, Ed, but it wasn’t nearly as funny. I LOLed…
My kind of guy.

Chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken (chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken) chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken.
tl; dr: chicken
Yeah, but he still needed 10 pages of frabba-jabba and equations to back up the abstract.
