If I’m using Kaspersky on an Android 2.2 (Froyo?) phone, do I need additional protection, like a firewall?
So far, it looks like the first line of defense is to use care in what apps you download.
Which applies to any platform which is more than a glorified appliance.
Well, if reports of a rootkit installed by default on most Androids is true, then s/w from the app store may be the least of your problems.

I imagine IT admins in the .gov, .mil, .nasa, and other domains are getting a lot of calls right now. Not to mention any company that does anything they consider even mildly confidential.
