1. It maybe dead elsewhere, but in California it is full speed ahead into the money pit.

2. Now, if we could only get them to defund the SLS debacle.

3. I think the true toxicity of projects like these, is that the federal government helps pay for construction, but not a cent for maintenance. We build long term budget liabilities when we spend on these sorts of projects. That’s why several states have backed out and why California, with its traditional blindness to cause and effect, trudges on.

   Have no fear, Rand – the present gummint will waste it on their cronies something else instead.

6. HSR might be dead, but Orlando did give Obama a one-mile stretch of highway. $10.5 million in stimulus employs 100 workers to build one-mile. I know of no better recognition for our President.

7. This is a travesty just think of the impact on people who make high speed rail jokes.
