  1. And I see complaints familiar to us here. The list of demands was made by someone not at the event. The odd thing is that unlike the Tea Party movement, there’s no obvious theme (aside from “We don’t like rich people.”). I guess the Koch brothers haven’t told them yet what they’re supposed to believe in.

  2. They dropped the demand for open borders.

They also think that caps lock is cruise control to awesome.

  3. Of course, Wodun, the open borders demand is incompatible with the demand to add a whole bunch of tariffs at the borders. At least they’re trying to pare it down for consistency.

I have my doubts that the list of demands is actually representative of the ideals of the “Occupy” crowd – more like someone saw which way part the mob was moving and got out in front. It’s what leaders, or would-be leaders, do. Heck, Andrew Gasser did the same thing.

However, I don’t know if the Occupants even really have a coherent idea of what they’re trying to accomplish. At least with the TEA Party, the Constitutional basis is coherent. That makes formulating policy statements far easier – just start with the Constitution and everything else follows from there.

  4. OK, just for the sake of discussion, let’s suppose they get us all to buy into this crap. We pool our money, split it up, and make our country fair and equal.

    NEXT!

What I NEVER hear them address is HOW they’ll convince an African War Lord or Tribal Leader to feed his people after they take down Wall Street. Because, and here’s the bottom line, if they go to Africa and ‘protest for the poor and helpless’, they’ll be shot by the War Lords or Tribal Leaders and fed to the hogs!

How will they get the Chinese gub’ment to start feeding their hungry people? If reports are to be believed, there are Provinces in China on the edge of starvation NOW, because they are shipping food to Shanghai and Beijing. We know what China does to protesters.

Same as African War Lords and Tribal Leaders.

Are they dumb enough to believe they can make this world wide? Or do they care sat that level? They ‘say’ they do, but HOW will they get a Blood Diamond leader to lay down HIS gun?

  5. I want to know why they think Wall Street has any capability to eliminate sovereign debt. And once debt is eliminated as a concept (sounds Sharia to me), then isn’t credit also eliminated. Therefore, if you want to purchase something, you must have money in hand to do so? This would have to be true for both products and services. So what happens when a person fails to pay for their telephone (likely cellular) or electric bill? There’s no longer a grace period, the service is just cut? Not that it matters, because once you eliminate Hydro-electric, oil, coal, natural gas, and nuclear power plants; you’ll only have 8% of the electrical energy capacity we have today. Assuming 500% growth over 5 years in fast tracked alternatives would still leave over half the US without power.

I think Occupy Wall Street wants us to be more like DPRK.

As for the demands not necessarily being from the protestors. Then what are the reasons for the protests? I’ve heard they are anti-fatcats, but they seem to have support from multi-millionaire entertainers. I’ve heard inspired by the “Arab-Spring” (sounds Sharia to me), yet they want Obama re-elected. I know they want their college loan debt eliminated, but why then occupy wall street and not various university adminstration offices? If nobody knows for certain what they are there to do; then I agree with Glenn Reynolds notion that its a protection racket to shakedown Wall Street bankers for campaign donations, because all they have asked for clearly is re-election of Barack Obama.

    1. “So what happens when a person fails to pay for their telephone (likely cellular) or electric bill?”

Free. It should all be free.

The rich people have enough money to pay for all of it, oh wait they don’t? Well they deserve to be punished to make everyone feel better.
