Kirsten Powers says that it’s even worse than it seems:
This was an appalling statement coming from an American leader. What’s next? Will he say he isn’t “second-guessing” and “fully understands” that women are stoned for adultery in Iran?
I wish I couldn’t imagine him doing exactly that.
When various Republican presidential candidates blasted Biden for the statement, NPR’s blog ran a story titled “Biden’s Comment on China’s One-Child Policy Spurs Anti-Abortion Ire.” This really misses the point. The media predictably frame this issue as “pro-choice vs. pro-life” when in fact it is a major human-rights issue. In particular, it’s a women’s-rights issue, which makes the silence from feminists and liberals about Biden’s comment particularly disturbing.
The left, and particularly the feminist left, view everything through the crazy prism of absolute abortion rights.
I think it’s worse. The left has always wanted this kind of power. They just can’t say it in public. They are not just Pro Choice they want to “help” you make that choice.
I still remember how the Left cried that Palin was unqualified to be Vice President but for the life of me, I can’t understand how they believed Biden was up to the job.
Some, like Diane Francis and Tom Friedman, are even willing to say it in public.

The feminist left has been putting what’s good for the left ahead of what’s good for feminists ever since Slick Willie got caught with his pants down figuratively and literally. They tell everyone only the left cares about women and the left gives key members of their group access to power they wouldn’t otherwise have. It’s a different currency than the traditional agreement, but the profession is the same…. the oldest one.
Has anybody written how the chinese government isnt actually ‘pro-choice’, they are for killing second children irrespective of the choice of the mother?
