That’s all I have to say right now — I have to think about it some more before I comment. I will just say that I’m not sure the first commenter is on the right track, either, but the grass is always greener…

I’m guessing you meant to link to something?
The link is there, Trent. At the end of “I have to think about it”
James Richard Perry has no such regrets . . .
Perry’s transcripts look pretty bad but at least he as released them. Obama’s transcripts are guarded more closely than the Coca-Cola formula.
Ultimately, it’s about intellectual snobbism. To hear the New Mandarins, only Ivy League grads are fit to run the government. It’s true that a Ivy League grads hold a disproportionate number of powerful positions in government and industry, we can also see what a mess they’ve made of things. If insanity is “doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different outcome,” then perhaps we need to consider our alternatives.
Ultimately, there seems little evidence that college transcripts determine how successful a politician will be in office. By far, the best president of my lifetime went to Eureka College. The last 4 presidents have all been Ivy League graduates and each has been a disappointment if not outright disaster.
