It’s going to be a very interesting race for the Republican nomination, and I suspect that whoever emerges from it will be the stronger for it, and ready to send the president back to academia.

Thanks for the link. Fasten your seat belts. It’s going to be a bumpy ride! 🙂
sept. 3, 2011: “Restoring America” starts
It’s the independents stupid!
“It’s the independents stupid!”
no its the effin economy stupid
If Obama’s poll numbers keep falling, he might not even run. Johnson quit in March of 1968, only eight months before election day.
Yes, its the economy, but once any one of the republican candidates gets his party’s nomination, it’s off the ideological reservation and into the big wide world, where the deciding faction in the 2012 election (like in previous elections) will be independent voters. The repubs “base” could help produce a nominee that would absolutely delight Obambi and his handlers. They’d love a Bachmann or even a Perry. And there are things in Perry’s background (like his state’s budget deficit) that could be used to club him all the way back to Austin.
Dear Newrouter, the goal is to beat the closet Marxist n the White House, not fulfill one’s ideological fantasies! If you get a president that gives you 70% of what you want, you’re in political heaven.
My guess is that Obama and his team don’t want Perry at all.

no the goal is to give the population a black and white choice. i denounce myself!!11!!

you are a big fan of “outside the beltway” mind hive
Uh-huh. Practice your reverse psychology on someone else.
I’ve never seen another politician who, in a physical sense, reminded me more of Ronald Reagan. Pleasing facial features, strong build, vitality, even the proverbial twinkle in the eye. Barring scandal, Perry looks like a winner to me.
RACIST!
I don’t care who runs, so long as they knock that RINO DB from Massatwoshits out of contention. He’s so lefty that he makes Bush look like Goldwater!
Having spouted that, I think we definitely NEED a Perry or Bachman or even Palin to run. Someone from outside the Beltway to shake the foundations of the ‘establishment’ in D.C. With the help of even more Tea Party conservatives in the House and Senate.
Not to mention, how it would be a DEE-LITE to vote FOR a candidate from my side, rather than voting AGAINST another Obama / Kerry / Dukakis commie, America hater.
Screw those guys!
If they want live somewhere ‘like’ Europe, then move the hell TO Europe! How simple is that? These people are supposed to be the sharpest tools in the shed. Yet, instead of moving to Kansas to live in a flat state, they ALWAYS try to have Colorado ‘shaved down’ to suit them!
The simps!
Oh, and I forgot to add, the Colorado shaving will be done at the EXPENSE of the other 49 states! Or with a Chinese loan.
Super simps!
Romney is the only one of the bunch who would make me think seriously about voting third party (i.e., Libertarian).
Run, Sarah, run!
Palin/West 2012
knowing he’s FROM academia, makes me happy I dropped out of college to join The Corps. I’d rather be a puppet, than a slave.
The Establishment loves the idea of Romney, since whether he or ObamAA+ wins, there’ll be a liberal Democrat in the White House.
Yes it is. Obama has lost them and will not get them back.
The media seems to love Perry. That should be all the warning you need.
I was kind of rooting for Colberts pArry campaign to come out on top. But then, I’m a bit perverse.
