Bah, as the left continues to point out, there’s plenty of money left. The 401s just for starters.
“What we’re watching is the death of the Democratic Party. Or, at least the Democratic Party as most of us have known it. The one that has taken its identity in the modern era from FDR and the New Deal, from Keynesianism and the social safety net.”
I find this to be terribly optimistic. Somebody like Chris G. isn’t going to change. Rather they are going to double-down and blame “obstructionist teabaggers” (see fight over debt ceiling) for Obama’s problems.
Actually we may have to define a new adjective to modify optimistic. As long as the left holds power (and we may find out if democratic process still works in 2012) they will feed us all to the tree shredder before giving up.
I don’t think anybody has a clue how bad it could get. That pot of frogs has been bubbling for many, many decades.
