It’s time for affirmative action to stop. Long past time, really.
And while it’s been disastrous for many of those it has purported to help, in November of 2008 it ended up being disastrous for the country.

Not really. I agree with you. I just thought I’d save some time by cutting to the inevitable (and ultimate) response to any proposal to end the Crow-Jim era.
With this as in most things, follow the money. There’s big money in affirmative action for the selected ones. There’s no way they’ll freely give up the gravy train.
I agree, but not for the reason you think.
Since the secondary schools have been “adjusted” to be more supportive and the curriculum adjusted for girl power, boys have become under represented in college to the tune of 40 to 60 percent and growing. In order to keep enough boys around as potential pardners, affirmative action has been unfairly giving boys the slots girls should get on merit of their school performance.
I hardily disagree with this. Mainly because most of the boys who are getting left out are in the humanities and now, at last, the male tech and science geeks will have easy pickens.
God bless the Progressives and unintended consequences!
