What’s even more amazing is that Moore’s Law is not a given. It cannot be assumed. The culture within Intel is that they make Moore’s Law be true. And I can’t prove they’re wrong about that.
The guys at Intel are remaking the world as surely as Gutenberg did, but they keep doing it – year after year. The talented people at IBM and TMSC are just trying to not fall too far behind.
Same for the hard drive people at Seagate, EMC, etc. and the networking people at Cisco. Their work is just as important as the falling transistor costs, and arguably is falling even faster.
