The US has kind of matured, perhaps reached the top of its hill and started down the other side. It seems an optimal time for it to speciate, give birth to many new “countries” that might take civilization to the next level.
Reduce the federal government so the states can once again compete and improve against one another? Open the oceans and maybe space to the development of new start up countries? Perhaps virtual geographically unconstrained countries where an individual can apply to become a citizen of an organization that provides governmental services of their choice and which interfaces with the old governments for them with bulk discounts?
Reforming the old seems unlikely, finding someway to unleash the new seems necessary, and it probably needs to happen within the next decade or two.
“Is that all there is?” is a great question which always has just one answer… “no, but.”
People, especially those in power or having no power, are afraid of change.
This is why a middle class and opportunity are so important.
Better always exists, but requires leadership (and the acceptance of failures) to get there.
Historically, the old fades and the new emerges someplace else. This is the hope of space.
America 2.0 will only happen if the tea party gets more radical (not violent, but action oriented especially at the local level.) They have the structure, but can they get enough people in support?
What this country needs is a telepathic interface, preferably designed by Apple. And while the liberals are all busy showing off to each other how they can move the scrollbars and things by wagging their ears, we take over all the positions of power.
Huh? .
Andrea, are you saying give them a piece of string or a point of light to chase around on the floor while we do other more important things? (And Apple because the left like expensive tools that can’t easily be worked with under the hood?)
