    Frankly, I am forced to question the validity and worth of any work he has produced.

  2. Singer is a well known tool. The fact that he is published in Time is more a critique of a POS magazine than anything else.

    But really, what does Singer care about the NRA having blood on its hands? He’s on the record as having zero respect for human life outside of a postgraduate seminar.

If Singer really is a bioethicist rather than just a academician with an opinion on bioethical issues, he should know that stating an opinion like the “NRA has blood on its hands, clearly” requires justification. A real ethicist would be obligated to provide a rational argument for why that assertion is true. Instead, he claims that the shooter wouldn’t have killed as many people, if he had to work a bit harder to find a gun. That doesn’t make it so.

Singer is, of course, famous for advocating euthanasia for disabled infants and the elderly, since they may be more of a burden on their parents or other caregivers than their “utility” can provide. One might ask what he would have done about Jared Loughner…or Rep. Giffords, should she turn out to be brain damaged.

    Needless to say, I don’t care to be lectured to by him, on civility or any other subject.

  9. The whole “civility schtick” is just a tactic by the socialist powerstructure to shutdown its opponents’ speech. Any chump politician who uses civility is asking for his ass to be kicked at the ballot box by any disciple of Saul Alinsky.

  10. I am not surprised that Peter Singer supports gun bans. Can’t carry out forced euthanasia on “defective” people if there is armed resistance against his jackbooted thugs.

    I also noticed something, Chris Gerrib is no longer putting posts on this blog calling for civility after President Obama threw all the Blood Libeling Leftists under the bus. Is he going to apologize for being an Obamatron?

  12. umm.. Singer doesn’t actually advocate euthanasia of disabled or infirm. Actually he’s an annoying animal rights advocate who equates human rights with animal rights. He says we euthanize disabled and infirm animals so we should do the same to humans. Don’t agree? Then maybe you should rethink your opinion of disabled or infirm animals.

    Of course, the only sensible response is: you’re a douche. Humans a special, get over it.

    It’s known as the “call to civility”, and it’s a red herring. Of course, the whole article is based on the false premise that Loughner was motivated by anything more than his own schizophrenia. Time was hasty to push their narrative, but now that everyone knows the truth, it’s their “Dewey Defeats Truman.”

  14. I just do not understand how jobs are going to be created when a large number of USA based companies are spending their money offshore. Consider GE as an example. GE’s newest attempts to construct aircraft engines for the Chinese will result in them passing over their blueprints for the engines they build. A different corporation, Yum Brands, is collecting over 50% of its profits from outside the United States. Until trade agreements are altered, more job losses is likely.
