Kirsten Powers has noticed who really hates women. It’s nothing new. Seventies feminism was largely a reaction to the male chauvinist pigs among the campus left.

Respect and dignity? That ship has sailed.
A little more disgust wouldn’t hurt.
From the article: Yes, sexism matters—as does gender. But whereas you never hear anyone claim that men should vote a particular way because of their gender, feminists have no trouble treating women like pre-schoolers who have to be herded into the right camp, a camp that is apparently preordained at birth. In an interview with Katie Couric last year, Gloria Steinem said that where conservative women stand “is squarely against what most women need and want. If [women] still vote for them, they are voting against themselves, which is quite tragic to me.”
I get the impression that these feminists are stuck in junior high. Anyone who isn’t a part of their little group must not only be ridiculed but destroyed. They are to sexism what those bigots who believe that all blacks must think and believe the same things are to racism.
^^ Outstanding Larry.
If Sanchez got fired for what he said, Olby should have been gone a long time ago. Political expediency it’s what for breakfast.
Pam Geller (of Atlas Shrugs) also discovered who really hates women as well during an interview on Fox News.
Here’s an anecdote from 1993:
Gloria Steinem flew to Texas all the way from New York City to call Senate candidate Kay Bailey Hutchison a “female impersonator.” Actress Annie Potts of Designing Women pooh-poohed the Republican’s vague stance on abortion rights, saying, “She’s just the same old thing in a skirt.” Columnist Molly Ivins hung the epithet “Breck girl” on her, comparing the way the candidate tossed her blond hair to the slow-motion antics of models in the shampoo commercial. But Hutchison, the Texas state treasurer, survived those and many other attacks. Last week she defeated Democrat Bob Krueger, winning the seat vacated in January by Lloyd Bentsen and becoming the first woman to represent Texas in the U.S. Senate.

Off topic, I will always remember the late Molly Ivins most fondly for predicting the presidential humor famine of 1993-2000 (no link available – I have the newspaper clipping):
What’s in it for me as a political humorist is that George Bush is just fabulous material. Bush-speak, the thing-thing, that gloriously daffy streak he has – “Read my lips,” “90/90 hindsight,” “the manhood thing.”
Lord, but I would miss that goofy, preppy, golden retriever-like part of his personality, those moments of transcendent dorkiness when we all stand there trying to believe he’s just said what he did.
If you have any mercy in your hearts for those who make a living being funny about politics, take pity on us. Mark Russell is going to commit suicide if we elect Bill Clinton. Saturday Night Live will fall on its collective sword. Russell Baker will molt and decline. Mike Royko will be stuck with Chicago and I’ll be stuck with Texas. – Molly Ivins, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Election Day, November 3, 1992
She might have been right about SNL, though.
