I’m sure you are not complaining about this. They could pass laws or the could listen to a fake newsman talk.
Maybe we could slip them a fake Federal Register that they write the laws into? *hope*
…and next week, the fake president will host SNL, while the fake Senator from MN will run the country!
Musical guest, Barbra Streisand.
(WTF is the country coming to?)
(and AGAIN, this kind of foolishness is why I have guns, as there’s no way the idiots in D.C. can be trusted)
Musical guest, Barbra Streisand.
No no no, you gotta stick with the theme and have a fake musical act. Milli Vanilli. William Hung.
Or rickroll a real singer.
Or they could repeat their previous performance by having several Hollywood actresses who portrayed farm wives in movies testify about the difficulty of farming.
Alan K,
in the 21st Century she IS a fake singer. Her last 2 or 3 albums went in the toilet. Millii Vanilli lip synched, but they sold a TON of discs.
How about this, I’ll cancel Streisand per the fake criteria, and we’ll let HAH-wokeen Phoenix be the fake musical guest. Casey Affleck can direct that segment, as a fake director?
Schtumpy,
Only if Juachin Phoenix shows up in that bearded getup he made his last movie in.
Colbert is testifying about an actual piece of real journalism he did, albiet it was a bit astroturfed by the United Farm Workers in their “Take My Job” stunt. The point is to justify legalizing the employment of illegals by farmers.
A good friend of mine here in New Hampshire, Steve Wood, who owns Poverty Lane Orchards, has long used legal Jamaican workers to harvest his apples who arrived via a USDA guest worker program. Steve has to meet minimum wage rules and provide health care, etc. A few of his long time migrant workers have, after 20 years, immigrated legally to the US as permanent residents and are working toward their citizenship.
Steve has to compete in the apple business against orchards down in Massachusetts which blatantly hire illegal aliens and save a bundle of money by paying them under the table, less than minimum wage, no social security or other taxes withheld, and the alleged Commonwealth of Massachusetts, nor ICE, does anything about it.
BTW: Steves workers are not unionized but are legal guest workers. The UFW that Colbert and Lofgren did their PR piece on evidently do not require that a farm worker be a legal resident, guest worker, or citizen. IMHO as such, the UFW should be declared an illegal insurgent organization that aids and abets human trafficking.
