Here’s What’s Different Than 1994

“You have me“:

A Labor Day schedule released by the staff of U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) indicates that while Feingold will be in Milwaukee for a Laborfest pre-parade on Monday morning, he will not be in town when Obama is expected to arrive.

…”I will stand with the president of the United States anywhere, any time, no hesitation. I’m proud of what this president has tried to do,” Feingold told the Journal Sentinel in an interview last month prior to Obama’s visit.

He forgot to add the part about “…as long as his approval isn’t dropping into the sub-basement.”

Yes, I think it is going to be different than 1994. Obama is going to make it much worse.

  1. President Obama will not play the blame game if the Dems lose big in November.

Instead, he’ll send out Axelrod to explain how many Congressional seats were “created or saved” by the president’s campaigning.

  2. Actually, I expect Obama to become even more passive. He’s not really a doer, he’s a talker. His most powerful moments came when he described the theoretical paradise that would emerge when all his policies were implemented. When it came to the messy business of actually putting them into operation, defending them, selling them, making good compromise — he’s been pretty much AWOL when he’s not irritated and condescending. Why can’t you dumbass peasants ever implement My brilliant ideas correctly? I need a better class of minion, damn it.

He may be much more comfortable just making hurt and lofty impotent speeches, or even just remaining silent and enjoying the good life at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, jetting off to Barbados for a “summit meeting” with Michelle and the girls. I don’t think he gives a damn about being re-elected.

  3. If the Republicans make big gains in congress, expect Obama to step up the blame game during 2012.

In other news the Sun will be rising in the East tomorrow morning.

This worries me. What does he know that the rest of us don’t?

    Mike

  5. I’ll say it again, a pachyderm takeover of Congress gives this idiot just what he needs to go for reelection in ’12, ‘Those blankety-blank rethuglicans (you know who I’m talkin’ about) kept me down and kept me from bringing on heaven on earth, don’tcha know’? Especially since that ‘derms seem singularly inept at actually making their case.

  6. I can agree with that, jsallison. Obama seems keen on recycling the successes of past presidents. He no doubt sees how Clinton made it through a Republican takeover and why.
