I didn’t know he was still alive, either. And I remember “Sing Along With Mitch” very well.

I remember the show very well. Leslie Uggams was so pretty! I’ll bet I wasn’t the only boy that thought so.
I very dimly remember his TV show, since I was just a little kid at the time. I didn’t know about his career as a producer. That was an interesting article. RIP.
Wow! Like the rest, I thought he was dead, years ago.
You know, the obituary was really wonderful. Here was a guy who had a simple idea, and made it into a cultural phenomenon. They reported it objectively, and didn’t dump on him for being some kind of greedy opportunist.
What I liked about it best, thought, was that it used a picture that I both recognized instantly, and was flattering to the man as he was in his prime.
