  1. I thought that some of her pictures were cute, but was your link supposed to be a link to pictures of her, or to the Mullings Blog? Because the link was to the Mullings Blog. And the only picture on there is of “The Thinking Man”, which I also don’t necessarily find all that “hot”.

  2. It was to the Mullings blog. Galen was talking about how he’d like to be interrogated by her. I assume that there are plenty of pictures for those interested with a search engine.

  3. She has a girl-next-door face, which might explain part of the buzz. It doesn’t appear she’s a natural redhead, although (unfortunately) I can’t be sure. 🙂

  4. I think the buzz is because she supposedly came from a wealthy background. Money can make otherwise homely looking girls very sexy. I mean, you might not kick her out of bed, but if you knew she came with a million or even billion; you might just do a bit more things to satisfy her.

  5. Ken:

The eleventh spy made it as far as Malta before being arrested. A local judge granted him bail (!) and he promptly vanished.

  6. I find it peculiar that there are so many different photos online of someone who was supposedly a covert agent. (Many of them are NSFW!) I mean, there were fewer images of Monica Lewinsky during that kerfuffle — that’s why the iconic image of ML is of her in that stupid beret.

BTW Be aware that some of the websites hosting images of Anna Chapman are flagged by Norton as ‘malicious’. Be careful what you click on….

That’s because the Lewinsky thing happened long before the current “social broadcastingnetworking” phenomenon took hold. Come to think of it, the Lewinsky thing happened while AOL was still a major internet service provider, and was still charging hourly rates for access.

It was also before most of the major advances in low-cost, high-quality digital photography, cameras in cell phones, etc., made it possible for people like TMZ and others to increase the paparazzi ranks by an order of magnitude or more.

I would wager that there are significantly more photos of just about ANY tween/twenty-something nowadays than there were of people of a similar age back in the middle-to-late 90’s. That goes ten-fold for images of people appearing on the internet now compared to the mid-to-late 90’s.

  8. > In some pictures, she looks like Kaylee from Firefly.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

  9. That female spy looks ok to me. The media just make a big deal out of it because they are enamored with the Cold War. Probably saw too many James Bond movies.

If I was in the spying business I would be more concerned with little Chinese men taking photographs with their cameras for industrial espionage purposes.

  10. Curt Thomson:
The caption on the (rather captivating) photo you linked says:

Accused: The semi-naked picture of Anna Chapman taken by her ex-husband Alex on their honeymoon in Zimbabwe in 2002

    Honeymoon in Zimbabwe?

  11. Yeah, Zimbabwe has a thriving tourism industry, for all of their internal problems. They have Victoria Falls and some of the best preserved wildlife sanctuaries in Africa (ironically, because their environmentalist policies are highly market-based). Hilton (I think it was) tried to sell me a timeshare at one of their several properties in Zimbabwe a couple of years ago.

  12. I’m struck by how superficial the coverage is… eleven spies for over a decade??? What did they do in that time? Who were they connected with? Oh well, the media doing their usual bang up job.

  13. The media may be limited to what’s available on public documents. I’ve seen interviews with the usual ‘clueless neighbors’, to be expected, but otherwise, it’s been 20 years since someone’s investigated this type of story…
