Heheh, at first I though this was about Sean O’Keefe and Steidle, who certainly do deserve an apology.
Here on Planet Reality, when somebody tries to con their way into a building phone closet, suspecting that they are trying to bug somebody is quite reasonable. Also here on Planet Reality, understanding that sometimes people are charged with lesser crimes based on what the authorities think they can prove. This is especially the case in attempted as opposed to successful crimes. Lastly, here on Planet Reality, interfering with a phone system is a felony.
How are things on your planet?
And here in America, a person is entitled to the presumption of innocence. You know, innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. How are things in your country, Chris? All we know is what the police have charged. None of that has been proven in court yet.
On my planet, Earth, they weren’t bugging the phones.
But I heard on Planet Reality, they have unicorns that shit skittles.
Larry J and Leland – please carefully read what I said. I said it was reasonable to suspect a wiretap scheme. I said nothing about criminal guilt or innocence.
I said it was reasonable to suspect a wiretap scheme.
That doesn’t mean that it was reasonable to report it as fact.
As of right now, we have no evidence they were trying to plant a bug. As of yesterday, you were instisting that’s what they had to be doing. You have no evidence to support that claim and neither does CBS News and the LA Times. Admittedly, such evidence may come to light later but it has not yet.
Rand – it was not reported as fact, it was reported as an allegation.
Larry J – I have evidence of people trying to get into a phone closet under false pretenses. That is circumstantial evidence of a plot to bug somebody.
It was reported as an allegation by the authorities. It was not. The reporters made it up. They need to correct and retract.
That is circumstantial evidence of a plot to bug somebody.
Would you feel the same way about evidence of people getting into a broom closet? 😉

How are things on your planet?
Quite well, with plenty of material that lacks only a laugh track. “Interfering” meaning recording lame attempts to claim phone problems instead of responding to constituent complaints about ObamaCare? Are you sure you’re not on Animal Planet?
How are things on your planet?
On my planet, when it is obvious the facts are not all known, we wait to find out more before investing ourselves in a conclusion.
That’s why my planet has not gotten appreciably warmer over the last few years. Yours?
On Planet Reality, if you embarrass ACORN, you should be held in contempt for any and all alledged crimes people can dream up. But, if you’re a foreigner attempting to blow up a plane to kill hundreds of people, you should be presumed innocent and given a lawyer.
Not only were the comparisons to Watergate pernicious and false, the FBI affidavit never mentions wiretapping. Let me be clear the FBI, not the USA who determines the charge never mentioned wiretapping.
“Lastly, here on Planet Reality, interfering with a phone system is a felony.”
If that’s some oblique reference to ACORN, so is conspiring to defraud a lending institution.
Out of curiosity, have there been any more anonymous leaks from Planet Reality on the “listening device” located in a car, blocks away?
