January 5th is Christmas by the old calendar.
‘TW3’ as they sometimes called it…
Too bad all his time in Santa Cruz and Harvard gave their musical parodist a raging case of BDS.
Here’s an old TW3 clip that even this relative whippersnapper is familiar with, one that is strangely appropriate to this forum 🙂

I was mainly aware of TW3 through its tangential connection to Tom Lehrer. I introduced my son to the joys of Tom Lehrer. He soon learned all the songs on That Was The Year That Was.
I find it utterly astonishing how well the apparent topicality of TWTYTW has held up well over the decades. We still obsess about race relations, the environment, the hypocrisy of the “counterculture”, nuclear proliferation, the culture of celebrity (and its sometimes unfortunate collision with politics), pornography, American interventionism, and so on. If you want to see how far we have progressed since the sixties (or not), listen to “National Brotherhood WeeK” (“And the Hindus / Hate the Moslems / And everybody hates the Jews”)….
