  1. I hope the folks over at Space Cynics acknowledge this, in respect of their own award to Masten of the Walking Eagle Award for 2008…

They really do owe Dave and the rest of the guys at Masten an apology. However, I’m not holding my breath.

  2. Well, seeing as they are no longer in business, I guess they no longer matter. Glancing at their last post, they apparently made the jump from space cynic to space emo. I expect bad poetry next.

  3. I am somewhat (pleasantly) surprised by this, given AW’s tendency to be little more than a shill for the big aerospace firms. I had planned on letting my subsciption lapse later this year, due to the focus on the financials as opposed to the engineering, but this may force me to renew my subscription.
Having said that, I do wish that the articles had been longer.

  4. No we don’t, Dave. Try reading what the award was actually for. We stand by the reasons we awarded it.

That being said, kudos to Masten and his team for what they actually DID accomplish last year.

Then again, what do we know? we’re just a bunch of emos now. lol.

  5. Shubber, I made it clear at the time that I considered the award an insult, despite the ‘rationale’ you guys gave.

You may also remember that I asked why Virgin Galactic weren’t also eligible for it but was told that, because they were backed by large sums of cash from a recognised investor, they were somehow seen as a ‘legitimate’ venture… though the same could once have been said about Kistler (and Iridium?).

I’m also a little disappointed that you use the term “comment lice” in your latest Space Cynics update, more especially because your co-bloggers are always going on about the lack of civil discourse from NewSpace proponents.
