More guns equal more crime? Not in 2009, FBI crime report shows. FBI’s latest crime report, for the first half of 2009, shows America is a less violent place even though ownership of guns has surged.
No surprise to anyone who understands how the real world works.
When interviewed about the surge in justifiable homicides in San Antonio, our police chief said “Getting those people off the street reduces their potential to commit crimes.”
Yes, he gave that whole notion a wink and a nod.

The danger now is not that they will ban guns but that they will adopt the British style of justice – if you fight back against an attacker, you go to jail.

Pay real, real, REAL close attention around 4:08.
The police admit, on camera, Gun Free Zones encourage mass shootings.
I currently live in an apt, in middle class America. It’s also a college area. Lot’s of students, lot’s of working folks with families, kids of all ages. There are a few complexes around the area that are sliding down though. Having said all that, we are having a problem with gang tags and car break-ins. I’ve had my CCH and have generally owned guns for years. Even before I had to move here, I had them to protect the family. I haven’t ever hunted.
For whatever reason, a few months ago several people, friends and family alike started questioning my carrying all the time. And then, even I started questioning WHY I had started carrying full time.
But my question was answered, after some guy shot up a military base and some other guy shot up an FL office building. To top it off, I’ve had to chase the gang kids out of the patio area behind my building last weekend, and again two nights ago. The first time they bowed up at me, until I showed them my pistol. The second time they heard my backdoor open, and they scattered. The police were photographing the gang tags yesterday.
I’m no longer questioning my guns or my carrying. Especially when I saw a couple of the patio thuggery at the grocery store. The whole thing made me remember a bumper sticker I saw at a gun show last summer.
“When seconds count, the Police are only minutes away!”
Ultimately, the left will again go after guns, ammunition or God knows what other strategy to disarm us. I’ll be talking the Charlton Heston route on giving up my guns.
BDavis has it right. This is certainly something I have seen locally. It is not enough to have the right, you must take the time to exorcise it also.

Six words my friend.

Shoot, Shovel, and Shut-up.
no no, guys take it from a redneck. …..Hog lots.
Now, just to play Devil’s Advocate, I’ll point out that we should have no objections to Iran gaining nuclear weapons.
@J. Bradford that’s like saying we should have no objections about convicted murderers being issued concealed carry permits. A well-armed citizenry does not equate to moral equivalence of every individual, or state.
