…once again that he’s a moron, politically speaking. He was one of the rubes.

I certainly can’t see any logical basis for the assumption he confesses, unless he stupidly assumes Afghanistan is part of Iraq.
Perhaps he can join Sheehan out in front of the WH being ignored by the press now that a Dem is in there.
I think this falls into the category of “I assumed he was lying about Afghanistan being the war worth fighting.”
Is there a context in which Winer isn’t a moron?
I’ve found Winer difficult to deal with, but he was way ahead of the curve on outlining software, blogging, and RSS.
If he thought Obama had promised to get out of Afghanistan he was imagining things. But if you wanted the U.S. out of Afghanistan, and had to choose between Obama and McCain, you’d be right to favor Obama.

Why? Maybe it’s Obama’s “position” to leave Afghanistan. But what is he doing (aside from losing the conflict there) to back that position?

That’s a false assumption unless you acknowledge Obama was lying all along. How many times did he call the situation in Afghanistan the “war of necessity?” In 2007, he went so far as to pledge to invade Pakistan to win the war in Afghanistan if that’s what it took. When it comes to that particular fight, he was posturing as being even more warlike than Bush, let alone McCain. Now, if you accept that he was lying all along, well, then Obama seems the better bet.
