We better be more concerned about loss of rights and freedom, than we are about loss of the planet.
It was supposed to be the day the Monolith made Jupiter a sun and thawed Europa but we fvked up the space program so that is moot.
Attempt no landing here my ass!
The Mayans also thought the world was at a peril of ending every 52 years…
These idiots had to come up with something after the world failed to come at an end in 2000. They are all wrong of course. I predict the world will come to an end in 2038, the UNIX time wraparound.
Well, I have my towel just in case.
But I saw the trailer… Wow. You are lucky enough to get into an airplane, after driving your limosine through a collapsing building (that conveniently made up for the collapsing road), and after you take off from the collapsing runway beneath you; your unable to gain altitude, even AGL, while the ground beneath you literally falls away. That sucks.
Unix designers saved memory by anticipating 99942 Apophis’s impact in 2036.
However, Vinge the Prophet foresaw that this challenge would be overcome.
My thoughts exactly. Why did the pilot decide to fly INTO the city, instead of away from it, and why are they buzzing the ground, instead of just banking and gaining altitude to avoid all manner of disaster unfolding underneath them?
The peril of flying between two falling skyscrapers shouldn’t even occur. I, for one, hope that they crashed at the end of that sequence, but I know Hollywood wouldn’t let that happen…
“It’s only a calendar?” Pshaw! That’s like saying, “It’s only a Cookbook!”
