…call for desperate tax reforms? If California would do something like this, I’d feel a lot better about moving back, and maybe even start a business. I can’t see it happening, though, absent a massive voter revolt that throws out the gerrymandered morons in Sacramento. And the gerrymandering dictates against that, absent some kind of proposition to blow up the redistricting system.

One of the few things California state government has going for it is that we have passed redistricting reform, which will apply for the 2012 state elections, based on the 2010 census. So, only three more years of this mess before the end of gerrymandered legislative districts here.
By then, we may even have an open primary, so who knows, we might learn to have a functional government again. But that would require standing up to the public employees unions, and I’m not sure any state government has really figured out how to address that.
What is this obsession some people have for “open” primaries? We tried that in California about 10 years ago and it was a disaster for the Republicans. Eventually the Parties shut it down by threatening to refuse the delegates.
I DO NOT want Democrats selecting Republican candidates. We seem to select enough RINOs on our own. Why make it worse?
Tom McClintock for governor! Hell, McClintock for President…

The electorate had their chance during the recall to vote in a fiscal conservative who knew what he was doing, but did they? NooOooOoo.. they wanted a movie star with no experience. We see how well that worked out for us.
Article goes on to say: But some liberals are outraged by what they see as “a radical right-wing attack on the progressive elements of our tax system.”
I wonder if they’re equally outraged by the “radical right-wing attack” of businesses leaving the state. What is their plan — arrest them at the border? Oh that’s right, they have no plan…
As far as the progressive income tax goes, attack away! It is the most unfair and destructive tax scheme there in existence.
