Probably not all — after all, he led Michigan to their worst season in school history last year. But today’s win over Notre Dame will go a long way. That game will be a classic.
Especially if they can win out, though I don’t know how likely that is. I have to say, though, that it’s nice to have a true freshman QB who is already playing like a Heisman candidate in his second game..
I have three favorite teams.
Alabama
Any team that beats Auburn
Any team that beats ND
Ditto.
I originate from elsewhere in the big ten but I assure you I was cheering the end of that game.
Rand,
Glad to see Michigan win too. Very happy to see the two most over-rated teams in the country (Notre Dame and Ohio State) lose this weekend (may be the ESPN lovefest for the Buckeyes and Irish will end). Michigan played a great game. The cherry on top was seeing Colorado get pounded by Toledo (the Puffs look really bad).
It was a great day to be a Wolverine at the game.
Personally, Rodriguez earned my patience after last year’s win over Wisconsin.
As another UM alum, seeing the Wolverines beat Notre Dame is as satisfying to me as seeing two other wins.
As much as I loved that game, I’m not ready to say “all is forgiven. After a the worst season in history, and an embarassing scandal, I started the season saying one of two things had to happen in January, either UM wins a New Year’s Day Bowl or Ricky Ricardo is fired. I still believe that but I now think the positive outcome is more likely than I did two weeks ago.
When Michigan gets the right personnel, it will dominate the Big 10 with that offense. The Big 10 has the least athletic teams of any major football conference in the country. If Rich Rod gets the kind of team speed he had at WVU, it won’t much matter if his defense is mediocre or not. They will score a ton of points. Also, good to have you back Mike. We only have like two commenters, so we need to keep you around.
