Man, the Fox Report is pretty hot tonight. Julie Banderas is on a honeymoon, and Patti Ann Browne is sitting in as anchor. And all the stories are being covered by women tonight, including Molly Line and Laura Ingle (who graduated to there from KFI in LA a few years ago — she definitely doesn’t have a face for radio).
Also, I noticed that Shannon Bream sat in for Brett Baer Friday night. She’s another one of those beautiful smart lawyers, like Megyn Kelly, that they’ve picked up. Are they grooming her for bigger things?
FYI, URL for Ms. Browne is missing a leading ‘h’.
(What a frivolous topic.) But fine, it gives me a chance to say how much I enjoy the work of Megyn Kelly, who is easily the smartest Fox regular of any gender, (not necessarily including the guests/panelists, who are too numerous to consider.) She’s also pretty much the only one who gets away with correcting O’Reilly, which she does on a regular basis, and which I always get a big kick out of, and who, now that she’s preggers, is a real hoot. The last time I saw her on The Factor she was borderline unprofessional in terms of being unguardedly, giddily outspoken, like someone on their fifth second double estrogen cocktail who needed to have her keys taken away. But it was funny. And she is a true gem.
Regarding the rest of the “blonde squad” — doesn’t the uniformity of hair color among the female staffers strike you as a bit goose-steppingly conformist? There are a few brunettes in the mix, but the platinum preponderence among the femme crew makes me think there must be a bleach dispenser in the ladies wash room. Not that I don’t like it (I’m a natural blonde myself) but it just seems a little creepy.
Oh, and Shannon was gorgeous — pretty as a picture — on Special Report and she read the news, if anything, better than Brett. She didn’t do as well as Brett with the panel, but that sort of thing comes with experience. As a debut it was fine.
Well, Patti Ann isn’t blonde, and Molly Line is auburn (I think). Julie Banderas certainly isn’t (nor is Dominica Davis, or Harris Faulkner (obviously)). Laura Ingle isn’t exactly platinum — more like a dirty blonde. They may have more blondes than the proportion in the general population, but I think the impression that it’s all blonde all the time is quite exaggerated.
Nice round-up. I’d love to see Robin Meade make the jump from Headline News. http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/morning.express/
Make a nice addition! Especially since the rumor is that CNN is thinking of replacing her with someone younger (she’s an ancient 40 years old) and hotter (although I can’t see how that’s possible)
