Over at Instapundit. Lots of links to depressing news.

All except one of the Instapundit links refer to unemployment, which is a trailing indicator.
Not that I’m trying to defend Obama, or have anything to do with Jim.
Personally, I believe that the unemployment rate is going to remain at around 9.5 percent throught out 2010 and the Republicans are going to take back a LOT of seats.
My sales this December were on a par with past years. And my customer’s are more optimistic than last year. Many are planning more purchases in the new year. Some have already mentioned what they’ll be looking for. So I guess whether one finds gloom or optimism this season depends on what one is looking for. I’ll be running a new promotion starting next week, offering extras instead of discounting prices (and profit). The market place is competitive right now but not dead. And not as slow as it was 6 months ago.
