But I’m not going to watch a second of video, even to see what he has to say.
What sigivald said. I was a regular reader of Bill’s blog, but I’m not going to bother listening to that video – especially when their website never works. I appreciate they’re trying to build a business model, but a website with 100% sucky technology isn’t it.
I’ve never understood why they want to me to watch a ten-minute video when I can read the transcript in less than two minutes. Time is valuable, folks.
That said, I will lend an ear to Bill, because he has good arguments and is usually entertaining to watch (his Star Trek episode, “The Dowd Conundrum,” was great).

Well, they’re presumably going after the people who already get their news from video (i.e., cable). But in general, I agree. On the other hand, there are worse things than watching a ten-minute video of Megan Ortagus.
Vlogging: The Wave of the Past™.
What everybody else said here.
I’m glad to know I’m not alone in my dislike for “video blogging”. I usually just skip over them because I don’t want to waste the time.
I don’t like video blogging, but I must admit I do watch most of Bill Whittle’s vlog’s. Everyone elses seems more like hubris than interesting information. One thing I think that keeps Whittle’s vlog’s interesting is they stick to a topic. Too many vloggers go through several topics, so not only do you have to sit through an opinion you could have read faster, but you have to listen to opinion of topics you don’t care about as well.
Pajamas Media ruins everything.
Bill Whittle is great.

One more “vote” against video blogging.
