…of gun buybacks.
It’s quite frightening that these people are not only political leaders, but law-enforcement personnel.

Gotta love it when the Police turn into the safest fence for stolen weapons.
A crook may not get much for handing in a hot gun, but they’ll have less risk of getting thrown in jail than any other fence.
The whole article nicely encapsulates the Gun Controller’s delusions and adherence to symbols and “feel goodism” than actual results.
I recently got my concealed carry permit, and there were several former law enforcement officers in the class who now do Private Investigating and Security, in NC and VA. They did not know each other prior to the class. Both of them said they left their law enforcement jobs partly because of the escalating anti-gun sentiment in their former agencies.
The guy who taught the class is a 35 year Law Enforcement Officer, and he says the sentiment is growing to disarm people, “…for their own good…”. He also said thinking officers rebut that with, “…when seconds count, the police are only minutes away!”
I guess if you have a gun, and keep it on you all the time as a LEO, you lose sight of regular citizens wanting to do likewise.
It’s moronic.
I was once told the reason police agencies loved the buy back programs was to help them better their personal gun collections. That chrome plated luger mentioned in the article…will end up in a high ranking police officers collection.
I think this is great – I have a number of broken guns that I would like to get rid of so I can buy some more good ones. Please bring this b program to NM
Economists have pointed out that gun buybacks reduce the cost of gun ownership, so they actually encourage more people to own guns.
