I’ve been pretty disappointed with it for decades, but it seems much worse than I thought. Apparently, a new organization is needed to protect civil liberties (including the Second Amendment, though the NRA has been doing the heavy lifting there, anyway).

A friend has been an officer of a local ACLU chapter (now split off from the national group) and described it as “A conservative organization run by liberals.”
Sounds like another victim of the ideological corruption that is slowly destroying so much of the US’s charities and non-profits. I bet a lot of the ACLU directors do the same thing to other charities. It’s interesting to note a number of non-profits have been complained about in recent weeks: (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) MADD earlier today, ACORN is a routine punching bag, National Public Radio (NPR), and as I noted a few days ago, the think tank, Center for a New American Security, which seems to be both a pool of talent for the Obama administration and a key source of rationalization for the recent EPA declaration that CO2 harms human health.
And of course, Obama was a “community organizer”, hip deep in this sort of garbage.
