In California, you’ll be able to have a car in any color you want, as long as it’s not black.
I should note that we’re shopping for another car, and we are trying to avoid a dark color in south Florida. But it should be our choice, not that of the State.
CARB looks like it’s been busy. In addition, they’re looking at mandating higher reflectance windows for automobiles and a national fuel economy standard based on “a California proposal”.
I’m confused as to what your post about Earth Hour has to do with black cars… or do I need to follow the Earth Hour link in that post to find the connection?
Just a bad link, sorry. Fixed now.
Somebody should hire a physicist to show them the proof that a black car is also the most efficient at radiating heat, too. Just to tie them up in knots for a while, bwa ha ha.
It’s actually a wonder that they haven’t completely outlawed the use of asphalt and seal-coating yet. How can the automotive lobby possibly be EASIER to tackle than the asphalt lobby? Especially with the concrete lobby on your side…
You see, this is not the real Arnold, it is the work of Hauser, the secret agent who has taken on the life and identity of Arnold married to Sharon Stone through the use of the Recall process . . . or is it the other way around . . . never could figure that one out.

John B, the thing to remember here is that the California government has no problem imposing a burden on someone else. However, outlawing asphalt would greatly increase the costs and duration of california road building and repair projects. That affects the California government directly.
