I just heard that Fox News reported that they had a poll that indicated that people were more interested in the vice-presidential debate than the presidential one by about two to one. But they left out the most interesting debates (unlikely as they would be). What do you think?

  2. I was thinking about this the other day and wondering if McCain could pull a fast one on his third debate and come down with a sudden (like one minute before) sore throat and ask Sarah to stand in for him.

    Or he could just say, “After our first two debates, it clear you’re not ready to debate me so let’s see if you could handle the vp spot. Here’s Sarah.”

    Or just, “Americans wants to hear more about Sarah. Barack here’s your chance to question her for America.”

    Politicians are better at this than I am. I just want to see Barack cornered so there’s no way he can say no. In such a way that if he does say no the whole world knows it’s because he’s scared to debate her.

  3. I got it! On the third debate. After Barack gets in position, without a word Sarah goes to McCains spot and says nothing. We wait and watch Barack get uncomfortable. When he finally says anything, Sarah says, “Many liberal democrats have accused John of being two old and say I’m not ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. Today I’m here to show them that not only am I ready, but that you are not. Let’s debate.”

    Call him out!

  7. My answer is none of the above. The debate I want to see would be between the two most independent and interesting of the four, namely, McCain vs. Palin. Obama can debate Bristol, and Biden can debate Bristol’s boyfriend!

  8. LFS, I saw that piece yesterday. Every claim in it has already been addressed.

    I hope the press stays in Wasilla ’til November. The locals are going to eat them up.

    It all bothered me at first, but now I’m hoping the loons keep it up right until the vote. The media always underestimates the response of the average person.

    It’s like the days after 9/11. Everybody (on the left) before 9/11 knew that we’d beg forgiveness for our sins in case of such an attack. In the days following 9/11 most of the left was silent and dumbfounded by the American response. They just don’t get it. They just can’t help themselves. Reagan owned them with his sense of humor. Palin will own them with her small town values and wit.

  10. I want to see a real debate, not one of the choreographed joint press conferences that passes for a debate these days.

    I said Palin and Obama, because I know it, as it is happening by proxy in the press, will turn out bad for Obama. I also don’t think Fred will run in 2012, if McCain loses this year, so I’ll take Palin.
