I have an idea, instead of calling Barack Obama names (Communist) why not discuss how he or John McCain or Hilary Clinton is going to help get our country back on track?
In case you have not noticed, the manufacturing sector has moved to China, the securities industry is a Ponzi scheme funded by the Federal reserve, The fourth airline in two weeks just went bankrupt, the patent office is 5 years behind, the FAA is corrupt, FEMA is incompetent, the Army is completely worn out, and with food prices at all-time highs, the dept of Agriculture is handing out the equivalent of the NASA budget in subsidies.

I didn’t call him a communist. But if the jackboot fits…
why not discuss how he or John McCain or Hilary Clinton is going to help get our country back on track?
What’s to discuss? None of them are going to do that. They’ll all, to one degree or another, run it even further off the rails, though Obama would no doubt be the worst in that regard (except that he’ll probably be so incompetent and ineffective, from an executive standpoint, that he won’t be able to implement much of his leftist agenda).
To address thes point:
“The Army is completely worn out”
Utter felgercarb! The annual supplimental funding includes money to replace and repair worn and damaged equipment. The services are meeting or exceeding their recruitment goals.
What you blithely call broken, a reasonable person sees as battle-hardened.
Please, visit a military installation and ask to get a pass for a weapons demonstration. You will see just how ‘worn out’ thing are.
How easy is it to get a pass? I’ve been a tourist at Coast Guard bases in the US and Canada by just asking (and the Canadians were incredibly generous with their time – I got to visit all day, go on a patrol, etc), but I never considered asking to visit a (non Coast Guard) military base, much less request to see a demonstration.
I see that Steven Spielberg, Penny Pritzker and Jeffrey Katzenberg, as principal sponsors of Obama, must also belong to the Obamunist Party, or are even perhaps founding members.
Nice to watch Mr. Simbergs thought processes. It’s truly a wonder he can actually say anything sensible on space.
Obama, the anti-Jew Communist. Heh. What idiocy.
What’s next I wonder? Pedophilia?
I see that Steven Spielberg, Penny Pritzker and Jeffrey Katzenberg, as principal sponsors of Obama, must also belong to the Obamunist Party, or are even perhaps founding members.
Apparently, they are. By the way, that would be the Steven Spielberg who likes to hang out with Fidel, right?
Obama, the anti-Jew Communist. Heh. What idiocy.
Apparently you’re unfamiliar with the long history of anti-semitism in the Soviet Union.
Heh. What idiocy.
Indeed. On your part. And historical ignorance as well.
Are you saying Spielberg, Katzenberg, Pritzker are anti-semites?
Are you saying Spielberg, Katzenberg, Pritzker are anti-semites?
No.
Well, you’ve certianly tried quite hard to paint Obama as an anti-semite, and now as some form of Communist.
It’s hard to do. I know. Especially when his principal sponsors are Jewish billionaires and when he was introduced to politics by another Jew. And when it is rumored that Warren Buffet has been invited to be on the ticket.
Well, you’ve certianly tried quite hard to paint Obama as an anti-semite, and now as some form of Communist.
I haven’t tried to do that at all, Anonymous Moron. When I actually try, I’ll let you know, since you seem to be a little slow on the uptake.
Let’s see B-52’s older than their pilots; average age of KC-135 is something like 35 years. Aircraft in the Air Force are rapdily wearing out.
Desert environment eats into everything. Plenty of stuff designed in the 70’s and 80’s wasn’t built for sand getting into every opening.
You’d never get a weapon’s demo on any base unless they’re doing a show.
Problem is that the powers that be want to buy is too damn expensive and not a lot of utility in the GWOT.

Uh, hate to break it to you but most aircraft in service, commercial or military, are several decades old. With proper maintenance they could be utilized for several decades more.
Fortunately, in the 70’s-80’s they had the intelligence to understand how missions can change and built modularity into successful design concepts. This allows for any number of variants to be produced on a common platform to meet mission goals. The products that remain in use to this day obviously did the best job incorporating this design philosophy. For instance, the Bell AH-1 Cobra was developed in the mid-’60s and has proven to be the most successful attack helicopter design of our time. Many of the original airframes from the ’60’s have undergone numerous upgrades to their powerplant, avionics, armament, and sensors. One variant change specifically addressed the issues encountered with a helicopter operating in the desert environment. The rotor blades resist abrasion by fine sand, and air filtration was enhanced to protect the turboshaft engine. What can’t be upgraded is a human’s perception of the desert environment being dusty and hot. The equipment itself handles this environment surprisingly well.
You can’t get a full out, blow’em up weapons demo on a whim but you can get pretty close by going to a basic training graduation. They will usually run some tanks around, simulate mortar fire, and display small squad training action with the use of M4Ax and SAW’s loaded up with blanks.
They run demos all the time, at least monthly on Army training posts. Call the post commanders office and ask when their next major demo that the public can view is and how to get a pass.
The US Weapons small arms demo is proabally ran at least every two weeks.
Mike & Josh: Thanks.
